Have you ever needed strength? Have you envied the strength of others? Yes, some of us are stronger than others but we should not lose hope. Prayer is something we turn to in times of trouble and personal loss. We offer it up in the hopes that something, someone better than us, hears our pleas and makes things right.
Thursday Prayer For Strength
- Dear Allah, oh Compassionate and Merciful, we come to You today for comfort, for strength and for support. We know that we cannot do anything without You. Help us through these difficult times. Let us feel Your love in this world of fear, loneliness and despair. Keep us safe in your hands always. Amen.
- Prophet Muhammad (may peace be upon him) used to observe a four-Rakat prayer on Thursday night, which he sometimes prolonged. When he observed it, he commenced his prayers with two short Rakas. In the first two Rakas, he recited only Surah al-Hamd and another Surah and stopped at that. After sitting for a while, he would stand up and recite Takbir loudly and then slowly recite the rest of the Quraan in a very sweet voice. Then after completing the Prayer, he would supplicate: “O Lord! Increase my knowledge.”
- Lord, when I am weak then I am strong. Help me trust in your strength, not my own. May your strength give me the endurance to handle what comes this day. Help me focus on the things you desire for me to do today, and not those that have no significance in your kingdom. In Jesus name I pray. Amen. Have a blessed Thursday!
- Father, in the name of Jesus, I come to you today with thankfulness in my heart, praying for strength. My body is weak and frail, Lord, and all my hope is in you. I pray that you will keep me safe from harm and give me strength in my time of need. Give me courage to face my fears and anxiety, despite how overwhelming they may seem to me. I know that with you at my side, Lord, I can face anything. You have given me everything I need to live a good life and have protected me since the beginning of time. In your powerful name I pray, Amen.
- Dear God, I come to you for strength for today and for hope for tomorrow. You are my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? You are the stronghold of my life, whom shall I be afraid of? While many around me may fall and be forsaken by you, yet I will trust in you. While others are being brought to dust in their troubles, your compassions fail not, dear Lord. Your mercies never come to an end. They are new every morning. “I will lift up my eyes unto the hills from whence cometh my help. My help comes from the Lord which made heaven and earth.” Then shalt thou call, and the Lord shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity; And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noonday.” Amen!
- Lord, we praise your name and thank you for your steadfast love. We thank you today, on this Thursday, that you are with us in the darkest valleys and through the toughest times. We know that you have promised to never leave us or forsake us, and as we face the challenges of this day, we ask for your strength. Lord, we know that life can be tough at times and there will be days when we have to carry burdens that seem beyond our strength to bear. And so on this Thursday Lord, we ask for your strength. Help us to carry our burdens and the burdens of those around us. Give us the ability to look at our problems from a different perspective; one where we recognize and acknowledge that you are in control. Help us to hand all of our concerns over to you and trust that you will help us get through them as only you can. On this Thursday Lord, we want to praise your name by praising the fact that no matter how high the mountains may seem to stand before us or how deep the valleys may appear before us, you are always there with us. You go before us and prepare the way. No matter what comes our way today Lord!
- God of all comfort, I look to you today because I need your strength. My flesh is weak, my soul is weary and my mind is fatigued. I’m so very tired and worn out by life. My problems and my worries have taken over my being. My soul feels so empty and hollow. Where do I turn, dear Lord? Only you can bring energizing renewal to my tired spirit. Only you can renew the joy that once was ever present in my soul. Only you can fill me with peace and hope. All this, I ask in the name of Jesus. Amen.
- O God, Abundant in goodness and always ready to forgive, I’m sorry for all the wrongs I did today. Please give me the strength to make it through this day. Dear Lord, be with me today as I am dealing with some tough situations. Give me the strength to make it through. Heavenly Father, It is a blessing to come before your throne to pray for strength and power in prayer. For I know you will hear my prayer and answer according to Your will. O God of Strength and Power, help us to conquer our sins, give us the victory over our spiritual adversaries, shield us from every danger, and lead us safely to our heavenly home; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
- Lord Jesus please give me the strength to face what lies ahead of me today and the strength to remain faithful on whatever gets thrown at me today. Amen.
- Lord, thank you for this new day that you have made. Thank you for giving me another day of strength and motivation in order to get up from bed and continue facing life’s challenges. Thank you also for giving me another day of joy and happiness because of your unfailing love for me.
- Dear God, I bring this Thursday before you and surrender it to your care. I pray for your hand to strengthen and guide me through the day. Let my heart not be troubled, neither let it be afraid. Amen!
- Dear Lord, thank you for being with me on this day. I ask that you give me the strength and the guidance that I need to continue on in the face of so many roadblocks and challenges. Help me to trust in you, and in your loving plan for my life. Help me to recognize the burdens that I am carrying, and remove anything from my life that is weighing me down and holding me back.
- Please keep me grounded, and help me to find joy as I go through this day, despite my circumstances.
- Give me the strength, Father, to walk with You in heaven, on earth and within myself. Give me the strength, Father, to recognize more fully Your presence within myself and help others find You as well. Give me the strength, Father, to love life more and appreciate it more fully. Give me the strength, Father, to care for all people without judgment. Give me the strength, Father, to know that no matter what happens in my life there will be a rejoicing in heaven when I reach this place. Give me the strength, Father, to know that when I reach heaven there will be joy upon knowing I have accomplished some of Your goals for me upon this earth.
- Please accept my sincere appeal, O You who control the good and evil of every man, woman and child. Give me the strength to confront every problem, obstacle and challenge that comes my way with Your power and love, knowing that You are in control of everything that happens to me. Amen.

- Dear God, I come to you today and seek your guidance, strength and peace. I know that without prayer, I will not be able to move on from this situation that is troubling me and keep me up at night. Lord, please pray for the person who is causing me pain. Bless them with your love and mercy, so that they may find compassion in their heart. Let your holy light shine upon them and make them see the truth. Give me the strength and courage to have patience and rely on you as I go through this difficult time. Help me not to lose my faith or become unsure of myself as I wait for you to show me your sign.
- Almighty God, I praise you for the good things in my life, especially the good people you have blessed me with. Although I may be having a hard time right now and feel like giving up, help me to keep going and stay strong. Help me to remember that I’ve been through worse times and still came out on top. Give me more strength than what I feel when it is needed so that I can go after my dreams and make them a reality. If there is anything blocking my way at this time, please remove it from my path. - Dear Lord, I come to you on this Thursday to pray for strength and wisdom. Lord, I have been weak and I need your strength. Lord, I know that You are my source of strength.
